Hi guys,

I used PTGUI to stitch together my Pano which worked great - it's left to right and no up and down.

The outputted single image file is about 4.5Mb which, I am assuming, is really too big to be uploaded for web display.

What do you think would be a good file size for optimised web display, I was thinking about 1Mb...?

Also, assuming I should reduced quality of the image, rather than image size to best achieve this...

Thanks in advance :)

Hi :)

what's the size in pixels of your image? and format?

I usualy use between 1Mb and 1.5Mb (net speeds here in Portugal are not that great) for a full Cubical panorama with 1200 pixels wide per cube face, your pano is cylindrical so if you aim for about 1Mb to 1,5Mb you can have less compression :)

PS: I'm assuming you managed to make you first panoramic image?? did you have any problems?? I' curious to see your results ;)

I use cube faces @ 1300 x 1300 pixel. Saves jpgs at 60% (it is the setting called "high" when you "Save for web")

To see examples, it gives you this quality: www.wideeyes.dk/temp/groen_comwell_roskilde/index.html

Notice the smooth transition between the different scenes. That is because I use the cache plug-in from www.flashpanos.com - an awsome plug-in!!
