The gist of this is pretty well known. You shoot a series of still photos while moving from one node to the next. You then assemble them using a timeline in Flash with zoom and crossfade effects between frames. Output the animation as a FLV. Then jump over to flashpanos.com to snag Rick Workman's (FREE!) Video player plugin for Flash Panorama Player (http://flashpanos.com/plugins/patrick/video-player-plugin-flash-panorama-player) which he designed specifically to play this kind of transition between panos.
To work as smoothly as possible you want to precache the transition flv and the following pano to avoid awkward delays. Zypher's Image Cache Plug-In (http://flashpanos.com/plugins/zephyr/image-cache-plug) (CHEAP!) also at flashpanos.com may help there.
All that said, neither I nor anyone else I know has actually put it all together in FPP to achieve this cool effect. It is on my list of must-do projects but below a couple must-do-fist ones. If anyone has done this I know we would all love to see it.
Here's my quick demo of what you guys are talking about.

Please forgive the quality, I shot the video and both panos in about ten minutes. I think with some better planning and a little more work, the transitions would be easier. Anybody feel like donating an image cache plugin to the cause? :)
looks like everyscape is doing just what google is, with different transitions...
