I agree, this spam things are so annoying. The only problem I see is that I do not suppose there's a team existing taking care of this forum... Denis is too busy to do it, and I don't know if there is someone else with the rights do manage the forum, but I doubt it..

The latest spam attack on the forums NEEDS to be taken care of and prevented from taking place again. It's tens of threads with spam only today.
Moderators need moderating rights that can serve the whole community. Spam should be removed, and the IP's of the spammers should be banned... even though that doesn't really work for most cases, if the spammer is using a dynamic IP andd not a static one.
What I have been forced to do on my forums, is to restrict applications to personal email to me... it is a bothersome thing, but at least it keeps the spammers out for good.
This here community is made out of good people, and it should continue to be so... but the spammers do put sand in the machinery, so we need to put them under 6 feet of sand.

First thing that I would recommend is very simple, Denis can just check a box in the admin panel so that this forum will send the new person registering an email and they have to answer it back before their first time posting.
I checked it out to see if this box had been checked by registering as a new member “meeeee” and was able to post right away without even giving my real email address.
Next thing would be updating this vBulletin 3.6.7 to their newest version 3.7.0
A lot has been added to help stop spam in this newer version.
Btw I’ve notice that Denis has not posted anything on the forum for about 6 months.
We could definitely use some moderators, and it would also be nice to add some more categories. Something like for Hotspots, Plugins, Timers, MP3 Players and What’s New along with a few others. This would make it a lot simpler to find answers to our problems without having to start a new thread asking what has already been answered many times before!

The admin should be able to stop most of this spam by logging into vBulletin Admin at the bottom right of this forum, and then go to
vBulletin Options
Scroll down to
User Registration Options
Open that up and make sure the boxes for these below are checked yes. Right now the Verify Email address in Registration is checked "no" and should be changed to help stop spam. This also makes it easier to ban spammers as they have to use a real email address.
Verify Email address in Registration
If you set this option to 'Yes' new members will not be allowed to post messages until they visit a link that is sent to them in an email when they sign up.
If a user's account is not activated by the user visiting the link, it will remain in the 'Users Awaiting Activation' usergroup.
Allow Multiple Registrations Per User
Normally, vBulletin will stop users signing up for multiple names by checking for a cookie on the user's machine. If one exists, then the user may not sign up for additional names. Note: This does not stop users from logging out and then registering new accounts.
If you wish to allow your users to sign up for multiple names, then select yes for this option, and they will not be blocked from registering additional usernames.
Require Unique Email Addresses
The default option is to require unique email addresses for each registered user. This means that no two users can have the same email address. You can disable this requirement by setting this option to 'No'.

That is why mods need to moderate who can even get into this forum.

This has passed the point of absolute idiocy.
I still haven't received a reply from Denis... and we are only getting more spammers in the meantime.

Looks like we got two new spam members last night, nsk and LRKSFAG
I hope I’m wrong about LRKSFAG, but after doing a Google search on this name I see they registered on about 15 other vBulletin forums yesterday, and you know what that means!
Hey LRKSFAG sorry if I’m wrong but you’re using the same name a major spammer is.
At this rate we may be up to 100 spam posts per day before the weeks over.
Maybe Denis is on vacation or just out of town for a few days. When he does login all of this spam can be deleted in a few minutes and he can easily make it harder for the spammers to do this again.
Here’s a list of the spammers:

nsk
