Hi Kevin or plugin writers
There are two things I would like to see which I think would make Flashpanorama player much more like a self contained multimedia authoring program so it can be used standalone.

We have tooltips and a dropdown menu but would it be possible to have text box hotspots. I'm thinking that maybe rtf text could be loaded and maybe scrollers and keyboard control of font size so that accessibility is addressed.

Also I started a thread in the player section about the quality of the flvplayer. I have a sample of the poor quality I'm getting here
http://freespace.virgin.net/trevor.pvr/videotest/videotest.htm
Would a player which just does flat static video impove this.

Thanks
Trevor.

Hey Trevor:

At your link, I get an "This content requires Adobe Flash Player and a browser with JavaScript enabled." error. (Safari, latest version, Mac OS X 10.4.11, latest plugins).

I'm not a video guy really -- but I think the FLV players are simply containers for the Adobe Flash stock FLV component -- they aren't doing any compression or anything. So, it's possible the video quality is from how it's sized/compressed?

?

Cheers,

Trevor

Hi Patrick

"At your link, I get an "This content requires Adobe Flash Player and a browser with JavaScript enabled." error. (Safari, latest version, Mac OS X 10.4.11, latest plugins).'

This is very worrying. I thought that meant that you do not have a recent enough version of Flash and should update. But if you are getting this, and of course you are fully up to date, then I don't know what's going wrong. Would you please have a look at my html and tell me where I'm going wrong.
Thanks
Trevor.

Patrick

I think the warning problem has something to do with javascript not able to tell which flash version you have. I am using swfobject.js that is 8868 bytes. Others appear to use one that is 6880 bytes. I can't see version numbers but perhaps I am using version2 instead of 1.5. Do you think this could be the problem.

Thanks, Trevor.

Hey Trevor:

Hmm -- all looks fine on my G5, so maybe something's forked on my Macbook. Don't think it's an issue with your code.

I see what you mean about the difference in quality between different sizes/players. Strange. Maybe someone else can step in and enlighten us...

Patrick-
I got the same error message when I was using the labs edition of flash player 10. Maybe that is the answer on your MacBook....

Hey Nate:

Doh!, look at that -- I had installed v10. I can't keep it straight anymore, what with having to (un)install debug versions of the player all the time. :-P

Good eye!
