This forum is getting bigger and bigger.
There is so much to read that it is getting difficult to find what you need.
one of my ideas is to make a forum link page topic with links to forum topics and what it adresses.
I've used similar topics on other forums and it helps a lot.
The Idea is that you give me good topics and I'll add them to the first post in the topic.

one other Idea is top open a topic on FREE external flash files links that can be used inside FPP.
like text scrollers, gallery software, buttons, you name it.

If people have other ideas I am fully open to it.

Regards,
Freddy

Nice idea Freddy ;)

How about a Tutorials topic? there's lots and lots of really nice tutorials here on the forum, and most of them are buried in the support forum, and really hard to find.
Thanks for your work Freddy :)

hmm I was thinking about making a topic inside showcase called:
SAMPLES FOUND ON THE NET!
And make it sticky so people can show cool tours and loose panoramas
they found while surfing the net.
Just an idea I am thinking about..

Hi Freddy:

I know, I point out the obvious... But, why not contribute to or use http://flashpanos.com? :) It is a great resource for FREE tutorials on FPP, and plugins that are FREE, and so on... All are encouraged, as always to help make it a better resource for things FPP that are FREE (or otherwise).

I spent a lot of time setting it up in the beginning, without any feedback from any fPP users... :( I'm still waiting. ;)

?

Cheers,

Patrick

I thought the suggestions were related to the flashpanoramas.com forums, and not some other places?

I don't see where discocandy said it was related only to FPP's forums... :)

I was just pointing out that I've had an initiative going for some time, where all are encouraged to contribute (and have been encouraged to contribute). It's pretty popular, and FREE to all. I can reopen the flashificator forums at any time, and also post tutorials and info about it there, should anyone care to help spearhead that initiative again.

That said, I heartily condone an in-FPP forum initiative. Power to the people who can get it done, read and contributed to.

Until then, flashpanos.com is there and available.

Cheers,

Patrick

I think you're right... the tutorials and such that I've written are too invisible. I've posted abstracts and links in the forums here at FPP.

Your forums is a great place to discuss all kinds of projects. No question about that. But DC's suggestion was about improvements here... something that would be a good initiative, and which he was seeking input on.

We still need a specific forum here where important works (such as the tutorials you guys have made and published) could be permanently accessed without having to search up and down the forums. Same with links to updated plugins and solutions to problems people may run into. It is still a major problem for non-google experts to find relevant information here... and it would probably take quite some time for the moderators to gather and organize the needed information and make it accessible in an easy way here in the forums, or even making a web-page with links to the relevant issues.

There is always room for improvements, but the problem is msotly found in the lack of time people have on their hands to do what could be done.

For you and other peoples efforts to make the "how-to's" manuals, I have nothing but positive appraisal.

The tutorials you have linked to again, should be saved from disappearing from view... and if possible... a new section of the forums should be made for such posts to be on permanent display.

OK, Tuddi, and thanks -- What makes "my" forums an unworthwhile initiative? Why the "here" in here (suddenly)? Interesting...

Well, thanks for the response anyway -- and I hope others can see fit to post here or wherever is good for sharing.

Guys!!

Please.

All this is useless.
Flashpanos is a beatifull place to find tutorials and info on all kind of players!

This forum is for FPP alone, so I thought it woulkd be handy to have specific features showed here inside the forum.. nothing more.
I am not talking yet about a tutorial topic but about the tours found on the net!

A tutorial topic is still not made because I have no idea where to begin, finding all bits and pieces of coding spread around this forum.

There should be NO competition on both websites..
The plugins for FPP made by you guys and the flashpanos.com website are great work!(still did not buy any plugins myself:cool:)

Trausti. You know I admire your work on flashificator. The time you take for members here is aleways nice to see..
But that counts for both of you

@ All. Please let me handle the forum. I am open for suggestion. Always.
Regards
Freddy

OK, Freddy. I moved my frustration with a project into the forums here. Apologies. :o

A tutorials/how-to area at FPP's forums would be a good addition, especially if it could be made a sub-forum of its own (and not just a long thread).

I'm not 100% sold on the idea of a "found links" section, but I am always up for anything that helps promote 360 panoramas & shooting/developing them.

Cheers,

Patrick old buddy. It only makes you human, so don't worry. I think you simply misunderstood both DC's suggestion and the part where I tried to point in the general direction.

Your forums are in no way unapreciated or "unworthwhile initiative", quite the contrary! If I somehow gave that impression, I sincerely apologize.

No worries Tuddi (and thanks)... And, darnit, I am making the apologies here. OK?
