View Full Version : Moving Hotspots

I searched back a year or more... and found little on this... and no fix... so once again just trying to see if this can be resolved. If I place a HotSpot near the Center of the Pano, it stays put. However, If I place one near the top or bottom and start to pan left or right... the HotSpot starts to move up (or down or loopy) respectively... "loopy" like. I think as you pan left or right the "behind the scenes" picture is actually a square and as it gets closer/further away the HotSpot somehow has to adjust to it's realative position... making it move 'up/down' ?? But... It looks bad... is there any way to fix this and keep a HotSpots position 'locked' to a part of the picture? (no not static). For example... if I have a picture HotSpot on the wall... and I pan... the picture 'loops' up and doesn't stay where it "should" be on the wall... I can put up an example if someone wants it but I'm sure you know what I mean?

I'd like to see an example just for curiosity, although I won't be able to provide a fix for this :-(

Check the Pano. Pan strait left or right and watch the little picture of the cactus rise to the top of the browser. I realize 6 flat pictures are creating a Psuedo Sphere but the picture looks 'flat' to the human eye... however... when the HotSpot starts loop'dy doop'dy around up and down as you pan (and out of the position you may want it in)... it does not look good... I don't know how this can be addressed... or fixed... but think it should be. As it is now I can't place HotSpots anywhere out of the range of the 'equator' of the pano or they start loop'dy doop'ing around and is not professional. Is there a fix? A way to get them to stick where I want 'em?

Looks especially bad on "Tours" where arrows are placed on doors and when panned left or right the arrows go up and down.

hey pan, your problem, is that you're using a <spot> instead of a <box>.

the difference is, <spot> leaves the image as is, but <box> conforms (for the most part) to the pano sphere.

I see... with 'box' it "warps" with the pano and is more realistic. I think I am pretty good with the program but still don't quite understand the difference between 'spot' and 'box'. You suggestion worked fine with a Picture but when I tried using the '<box' with a .swf it is... invisible (no I don't have it set to invisible), it just doesn't show?? When the mouse goes over the mouse changes to a hand... but not visible?? with the '<spot' though the .swf is visible??? You can check the same URL above I changed it to a .swf using the <box function... you won't see it... but just up/left of center if your mouse goes over it it will change to a hand.

UPDATE: (10min. later)
It seems I was exporting my .swf as a Flash 6 file... but when I exported it as a Flash 9 file... it is showing up (Note: I use SwishMax not Flash). However... the Flash movement I gave to it (it is suppossed to get larger when mouse over) is not working... still work on it and see if I can get it to work. Just typing my notes in case somebody else has the same problem... well, not so much problem but difficulties.

UPDATE: (20 min. later)
It was right there in the manual... I never saw it. Under "HotSpots > Box Objects" it tells all about Box Objects and how they can be "interacted" with unless "while the hotspot is in distorted mode (because the distorted hotspot is only a picture, a screenshot of your application). " So... so far I have the Box Object 'undistort' with a mouse over and then back to a box object with mouse off... things working good... except my final problem is with an "OnOut" the function acts too fast and leaves my picture 'big' instead of scaling down determined in the original .swf file... hmmm... have to work on it.
