Hi,
I am using 3DS Max to export panormaic images (through the built in panorama utility) and I am able to export two types of images:
1- cylndrical
2- spherical
now keep in mind that I get only one image in the end that contains my entire scene. How do I use it in panorama player?
I tried the "panostripe" but its not working properly.
regards,
Denis

1. Spherical. Then convert it using any converter (PanoTools, for example).
2. 3D Max can generate QTVR mov file, use Helmut Dersh's tool to extract cube images from QTVR.

Hi Denis,
I found a link to pano tools here http://photocreations.ca/panotools/PanoTools12_2007Apr25.zip
I think its the latest version, but I dont know how to use it. It says it has a tool called PTStitcher but I guess that is for stitching several images together. How do I do the extraction from QTVR like you told me?

Yahadi, have you managed to do this using Max's panoramic output yet?
I want to be able to do the same thing.

Thanks for that Denis. I've not yet purchased the Panorama Player but need to know if I can work easily with panoramic images produced from 3dsMax.
I downloaded the Extractjpg.exe and also installed the Panotools, as posted by yahadi.
My workflow is as follows;
Create a scene in Max.
Export as a Panorama.
Load the image into the Max Panorama Viewer and export as a Spherical Image.
I then dragged the newly exported file onto the Extractjpg.exe, which exported a single image, exactly the same as the input file...where I was expecting six images for cubic mapping.
Where am I going wrong, or is there a better way to work around this?
Many thanks for your assistance. This will be an invaluable tool for us if we can get everything working together.
(Like yahadi, I couldn't make head nor tail of the Panotools, though they are installed as plugins within Photoshop correctly).

I've managed to get around this by using a panoramic rendering script which will output to seperate images. Available here http://plugins.angstraum.at/cubicvr/index.htm
Written for Max 5, but still happily working in Max9, with Mental Ray.
