im a new one. starting with panorama the first time in my life.
i bought fpp weeks ago. since then i try to create a panorama. i read hole the forum here and the forum at google.
i googled arround every free minute.
for shure i read the tutorials bought with fpp.
the only one i found out, is, that i need 6 cubic pictures, and it seemed, they have to be in format 800 to 800 pixel, converted to a cubic format.
so i downloaded one program after the other and tried. i learned much about panoramas and different programs.
at least i made a rectangel panorama out of 2 rows in a testing version from panorama-studio. it looks realy fine. good program.
then i converted it with a testing version from pano2vr to horizontal cruce. also fine program. but i dont got 6 pictures, i got one.
in my photo programm i cut it into 6 pictures.
and - sure - fpp doesnt work correctly. maybe my fault.
now i am tired.
why i cannot find any hint how to make the pictures i need? which programs i can use? why is there no tutorial for a newbe?
i wonder that no one but me had these problems. is there anyone in space? hello earth, do you read me?

Hi, and welcome to the world of panoramas.
Software to use:
PTgui (http://ptgui.com) for stitching, and you can also convert the stitched images to cube faces with it. It is without any doubt, the best stitching program available.
You can also use the free version of pano2vr to make 6 cube faces.
Image editing program, such as Photoshop for doing touchup on the images if needed.
Getting started with FPP, without coding, you can always download the free version of Flashificator, and go for the full version when you want to do some serious work, and still have a life.

Like Tuddi said,
Take pictures (taking care of things like nodal point, overlap, consistent exposure etc),
use PTGui to stich them, output in cube faces (with the latest version) or Equirectangular,
Pano2Vr to convert to cube faces and correct the Nadir (Tripod)
Photoshop if needed,
FPP to show it online :) I also advise Flashificator to start with, but as you learn more you'll start editing it by hand (or not, Flashificator is really nice)
Hope it helps and welcome to the forum :)

i work with following cameras (you need no expensiv one): nikon coolpix s225, panasonic lumix dmc tz7
i use a normal stativ.
for one row panoramas i use PanoramMaker 4 which comes with these cameras. you can also make 360 degrees flash-panoramas.
for 360x180 degrees panoramas i make 2 or 3 rows of pictures in portrдt format and one from the heaven above and one from the bottom.
i use PictureResizer to make them smaller (half the height)
with PanoramaStudio 2 Pro i put the pictures together (only the two or three rows).
i make a projection spheric equirectangular.
then i use Pano2VR to make 6 cube-pictures with 800x800 pixel, format jpg.
with corel photopaint i correct the top and the bottom picture with the two pictures i made from heaven and bottom.

I think you'd better not resize images . Big images means more details you have, then it's better for the software to recognize :)

thank you. i tried it and you are right. but sometimes the program says: "not enough memory" - then i make the pictures smaller.

Hi :)
you should take a look at PTGui, I know it looks a bit scary at first ;)
Or if you have tight budget try Hugin.

now first i tried hugin. you are right, it is a very powerful program. at first it was a little bit heavy to do all the settings (so i did not know the values of my lense) and also now i do not know if all settings are right - but the program makes automatically a very good panorama.
next time i will try to look at all the features the program gives to you. but this will take much time for me. see you ...

No one here said it's easy ;)
But it's very rewarding to see our panoramas go round and round....
If you have troubles just ask, we've all been there, in fact most of us are still learning (from each other). Nobody can say he knows everything ;)
