OK, I've done 3 jobs with flash panorama player so what do you think?

Hello Adrian
You made a nice work! I like it. The only thing is: I would like to know details about fire place or bathroom or something else, and I can't...
Where that shop is?
In the panorama 6, there is a big gray rectangle :o Why?

How did you do the panorama loading transition (not the effect)?

Thanks
I am not quite sure what you mean about looking at other areas, you need to click on the number button and it will load another tour, or follow the hotspots through.

Ther grey rectangle I think you are referring to is the end of the display wall. I stood there to give me views both sides in an attempt to open up as much of the showroom as possible.

Not quite sure what you are asking for with the panorama loading transition, here's a hotspot link from the bells tour
onClick="pano.leash=free; loadPano(?panoName=images/2&panHome=-94&tiltHome=-3)"

I'll happily give any more help I can.

I agree. Can someone please post a step-by-step tutorial on how to add maps, splash screens, etc. like this demo (first linked) has shown? If there IS a tutorial on this, please point me to it and accept my apology!

At clj.uk-virtualtours.co.uk the dropdown menu is a bit hidden, what about moving it down to the button into a colored frame?

@adriansalisbury: ...and since you are the specialist in scripting these damned xml files, do you have any hint for us common scripting greenhorns how to archive these fine results? :-)

Thanks for the comments guys, sorry i haven't been back in here for a bit, I need to check more regularly :-(

First, I must say that I am no coder, I have picked other examples and hacked at them till they worked for me, I am happy to say how it was done but I can just see some programmers cringing at my work! Oh well, it works for me.

Download xml file - http://bells.uk-virtualtours.co.uk/1.txt
(The xml file has been saved as a text file so once downloaded change the extension back to .xml)

Explanation...

The floorplan image first needed to be a png file as I wanted it transparent with rounded edges and this format handles the detail best. My first floorplan was blank and the hotspots as you see them were all visible. This was fine until I wanted to make the collapse into the top corner and that looked wrong. The current version has the buttons on the png file and I made the hotspots invisible. NOTE: If you do this with the visibility param they aren't clickable so I left the visibility as '1' and set Alpha to '0'. When the floorplan collapses I change the visibility to '0' so that moving the mouse in that area doesn't respond.

The 'x' is just a hotspot to close the plan and you can see from the 1.xml file I'va aligned the floorplan to the bottom right as this was easier for coordinates when hiding in the corner.

The 'MAP' image that replaces it simply does the reverse. It is hidden when the floorplan is there and visible when the floorplan goes. It simply makes all the hotspots visible again and re-positions the floorplan.

I don't know that you need any more info than that? I have re-written 1.xml putting quotes to show you what the elements are doing. This all came from the tutorial pages, you just need to dabble a bit and try things.

Hope that helps someone, feel free to ask more. I don't know a lot but am happy to share what I do know.

Adrian, works great now but... what about highlighting the current panorama view on the map?

Hello,

That was great!
I have been looking at this all week and have figured out
some of it. This is what I want to do but I cannot follow
some of the code. Can someone please give us the
idiots guide to putting something like this together?
I need some basic knowledge like file structure and
naming.
Thanks

tell me what you are trying to do and some examples and I will gladly help. Which parts are you stuck with?

Also have a look at this new map with mouseover functions on the map hotspots, simple but effective.
