I have tested the new Beta version FLash 10.1 and found that it behaves very bad on my MacBookPro with OS 10.4.11

I have done some more testing in different browsers. The first thing I noticed was a very weird behaviour in Fullscreen on Safari. It is like it feels hard to start panning but suddenly it takes a jump running 50-90 degree by itself. You may get stuck at nadir or zenith and it is very hard to keep the position at the horizont while panning.

OPERA seem to be the only browser which performs normal. Panning both in browser and Fullscreen is same as in last Flash 10 version. However if I CTRL click in the pano the window crashes.

Firefox is the worst one. I can not at all pan the panorama during loading. That is both for KRPano at 360cities and WWP and for FPP at panoramas.dk.
Also a test on Pano2VR does the same.
Loading is very slow, One of my pages which loads in 9 seconds with Safari takes 26 in Firefox 3.5.
The problem with selfrunning behaviour, is very severe both in browser and in Fullscreen.

WWP KRpanos are very jerky in browser but they pan smooth in Fullscreen and they do not have the selfrunning behaviour I can see both at 360cities (KRPano) and at panoramas.dk FPP.

I know they use a very low setting for the mouse sensitivity so that must be the reason.
Actually I have a medium setting for this at panoramas.dk which is lower than the default FPP setting (friction 90)

I tested it on my page about cubeface sizes.
http://www.panoramas.dk/panorama/cubeface-sizes/
As you can see I use 0,82 for friction. If I set it to default 90 the pano will run by itself from nadir to zenith just with a small push and I can easy push it 360 degree running by it self.

In Safari the only problem seems to be the selfrunning panning but it only
happens in fullscreen.

I hope this version is not one which comes out before it has been tested much more.

Forgot the link to download the Beta
http://labs.adobe.com/technologies/flashplayer10/

I done some more tests also on a PC with Windows XP
The problem I see on my Mac are not visible.

As a couple of Mac users has claimed that the 10.1 has a much higher framerate I tested that also.
I see no change at all with OS 10.4.11 and I can see no change in Windows for FPP.
Actually KRpano dropped from 21 to 18 and from 16 to 14 in Fullscreen.

I suspect that the improvement may be only for SnowLeopard and that the problems I see on my Mac are only for Tiger.
