Trying to add streaming radio to a tour, can't see how the link to a radio station is done or info for the link is found.
If you look at the original example:
http://flashpanoramas.com/blog/2007/11/17/mp3-player-and-online-radio/
Denis uses the link:
<mp3player> file=http://8331.str.ovh.net:8331/tracemq.mp3 </mp3player>
He says it's from Trace.fm radio site. If I go to the trace site, I don't see any similar link settings in my tool bar or notation on the site for this type of link?
What am I missing? How do you figure out the link settings needed ?
While I could use the link Denis has in his example, I'd like to have a few other music choices :)
In my tests found, the only stations what will play inside pano, are the ones what have .mp3 in the end of web address. Like in sample from Denis

thanks uudu,
seems so far thats the only thing I've seen work, and I can't seem to find any other internet streaming stations that have a mp3 link. As is probably obvious I don't currently know much about internet radio streaming.
I'm not sure if the mp3 "link" format is an old structure prior to m3u or pls playlist type of links or what, but it seems all of the radio stations I've found want to use a m3u or pls playlist and that just seems to open up iTunes or Winamp or ... some other mp3 player.
Anyone know of a better player or way to use m3u playlist directly? And if not, anyone know of a good listing site for mp3 linked stations?

Robert

Hi Robert.
I knew there was something amiss in the new mp3 plugin for FFC. The programmer was about to finish writing it, but I have asked him to make sure that sources like SHOUTcast can be accessed for streamed radio.

THAT WILL BE COOL TRAUSTI, THANKS!
Seriously, that will be a nice feature to have, would also request the ability to swap whatever graphic I want for a playlist, on/off and volume control, and station name or numbers if that's sent along with the link from the station.
Regards,
Robert
And, for the short term, anybody know of any other mp3 stations, that is any other radio stations that allow you to link to them in the same way as the original example from Denis?
I got the idea to test radiostation from dewplayer. It have streaming player included, also player with playlist. Plus some other nice and useful options.

Actually, I found, if there isn't very specific need from pano, it's much better to use your own files. At least you will have control. Even in beginning it's feels funny to have radio playing, visitor will be bored very soon if style of music will be wrong. And it will. Better to use some player with playlist option. Or make mp3 long enough.
And who will look at pano long enough to come even to end of your playlist :)

Thanks uudu,
While I like the look of the dew player, the simple one, it does not support streaming radio, at least that what it says. And while I appreciate your input please don't presume you know what I want this for, you don't. Design decisions for virtual tours are as unique as each tour and can be driven by clients or others for many reasons. What may seem like a gimmick or unnecessary feature to you/me, may not to me/you or a client or viewer.
From what I see from the original example provided by Denis back in 2007, he found the steaming service for the tracemq station and plugged into that. At least that's how it appears to me. From looking at a "pls" file I've found it's just a text file too and looks a bit like Denis's original link. However, I've not found a way to tap into the stream using that info. As I said earlier, I really don't know much about this yet but I'm working on it.
UPDATE, got it to work - Seems m3u files are just a form of playlist in text format too, so open one up in a text editor and you've got an "http" link to the stream(s), take that link, add it to your xml as shown in the original example and it works, at least 50% or more of the ones I've tried work.
Cool, on to the next fun thing,
Regards,
Robert

SHOUTcast streams can now be used with the new (not yet released) mp3 plugin player.
Great addition, and thank you Robert, for bringing this up. It was on a previous "To Do" list that got lost in a PC crash, and even the most obvious things are forgotten from time to time in this weary old brain of mine.

Hey Trausti, always glad to help out :)
If you need someone to test the new one, let me know. I've found that the current FFC_mp3Player crashes Flash component (browser) on most of my test browsers on Windows XP if the music is paused or stopped and then the tour is manually rotated.
I love how complex this all has become (just kidding) - So, on Windows XP, Firefox, Chrome and IE it's crashes, but not on Safari. And from the limited testing I've done on Vista and Mac it's fine - have fun tracking that down and O'yea almost forgot, I'm using the lastest version of Flash Beta.
Hmmm...how many more version numbers can I add here.......
