Sorry, before I buy this I need to know how exactly the process would work. I am fairly new to panoramas, so I'm curious how the images are stitched together, and how I should take them in the first place. Is there a process I need to follow before I even get to using the component? Thanks.

Taking panoramas can be easy or a science by itself, depending on what you want to do. For creating full sphere panos (360 x 180 degrees) you also need a certain hardware (nodal adapter, good camera, preferably a fisheye lens).
Have a look at http://hugin.sourceforge.net/tutorials/index.shtml and http://www.panoguide.com/howto/;jsessionid=17C4EFFDA6FB119988ED2E663203DC25 to get a basic idea.

take a look at this video... itīs long but very easy to understand the proces.
Also thereīs an other video, shorter and efective at http://www.fromparis.com/html/technical.php (and much more information...)
check out the panoguide forums (http://www.panoguide.com) for more information
buy a pano head for your tripod.
Buy PTgui (http://www.ptgui.com/) (soft) and download the free version of Pano2Qtvr (http://gardengnomesoftware.com/pano2qtvr_download.php)
Start taking good panoramas... then buy FPP (https://secure.shareit.com/shareit/checkout.html?PRODUCT[300093163]=1&DELIVERY[300093163]=EML&languageid=1&stylefrom=300093163&backlink=http%3A//www.flashpanoramas.com/player&cookies=1) and flow your head making interactive, animated VR Tours...
good luck!
