View Full Version : Create video clips from panoramas?

Not strictly a FPP issue, but since the brains are here I hope its acceptable to ask....

From a presentation point of view, panoramas are great, allowing the viewer *control* of where to look. Often though from a presentation and control point of view what you want is a 'guided' look round.

What struck me as a good solution would be to 'string together' a series of views from (pre-existing) panoramas into a 'conventional' streaming (or standard) video, maybe with a voice over etc added afterwards

Something along the lines of :

1) view panorama 1, pointing 30 degrees, zoomed in, pull out slowly, pan to 300 degrees, dissolved image to....
2) view panorama 2, view 50 degrees, zoom out slowly to wide angle, dissolved to....

etc etc. Ultimately its a form of renderer with a series of controls (entered via a GUI or XML) ie we're outputing this as an mpeg2/ 4 in non real time.

Does it exist? Can i buy it?

Any information / help / advice / opinion great fully received.

Hi

About your thread @ http://www.flashpanoramas.com/forum/showthread.php?t=741

I have previously used Tourviewer from Easypano.com - and their software have this feature you are asking about.

You can design the tour to your liking. Pan, zoom in, out etc without the viewer being able to do anything.

Best regards
Morten

I would totally recommend Ian's Pano2Movie, as well! I used the original version of the app, and it was great; the new version is by all accounts light years better.

That said, you can create an entire self-guided tour using FPP and a series of "movements" which you describe in the XML. This can give you the best of both worlds -- a panorama which self-presents, while still retaining the ability to be interacted with -- and doesn't come with the overhead of a video's file size.

There are discussions about scripting self-guided things elsewhere on this forum; you can also see an example on the front page at my site ( http://cheathamlane.net/ ), and an example code snippet here (http://flashpanos.com/content/simple-panorama-auto-presentation).

I have Stitcher Unlimited from Realviz.
I have made a movie with it, it is playing as an mov. in a picture frame from Kodak.
You just choose some points and realviz renders a movie.

Do you have any URL to see the video?

As I read Amanda's post, she is refering to something like THIS (http://www.kodak.com/eknec/PageQuerier.jhtml?pq-path=10521&pq-locale=en_US&_requestid=7156)

In that case, a link would be her home address....

It's pretty easy to do this with the PhotoToMovie software for Mac. You program the path with pano, tilt, zoom etc. and then export it as a mov.

I uploaded the movie, you can see it here: http://www.studioamanda.nl/360/Diesel.mov

It was just a movie to test the compression etc for displaying in a Kodak picture frame, and it works!

The original 360 is here: http://www.studioamanda.nl/360/dieselruimte.html
