The Business University in Aarhus is Part of the large University of Aarhus.
This tour is now ready for official launch in a couple of days.

Thanks to Adrian and Patrick for your help and to Zephyr for the Loadmeter with custom position (a small thing but it just makes it look more professional)
Even if it may be hard to see the basic interface is based on Adrians http://bells.uk-virtualtours.co.uk/

Nice Hans!
Thanks for the thanks -- and glad whatever I did helped. :)
Good idea to keep quality set to medium, so the interface didn't go all buggy when panning/stopping.
One thing, here in Safari on my Dual 1.8 G5 -- the initial fade-in of the panorama took 10 seconds or so.
Also: "technics" in English might better be "techniques".
Looks (and sounds) great!
Cheers,

Thanks Patrick, I have noticed the very different fade ins especially my special start fade in.
Which I had to develop myself as I could not find a solution for fade in 1 panorama anywhere. Its actually a black panorama which of course loads very fast first and fades into the real pano.
The funny thing is that the small PNG seems to fade very slow on low end machines like my old Powerbook 1 ghz and actually comes after the panorama.
I have used only 200 ms fades on all the panos while I see many use 600.
The initial is set to 2000 but you can not control it at all as different processors will change it.

Very well done indeed. The black pano trick is a very neat one, and I'm sure this is not the last we will see of it's use.
Regarding the Uni's logo/link in the upper left corner... in my opinion it would be beneficial for the viewers if it could slide out of view as the navigation bar can, since it is relatively big.
Hans, have you checked your PM?

Hi Hans
My main concern with this tour is.................. that you are also from Denmark, and that makes us competitors. Not funny at all ;)
No seriously - it is a great tour. I especially like the mouse over effect you made with the thumbnails.
You mention that the navigation is inspired by Adrian - but the lower navigation bar actually reminds me more of Marks www.flash-panoramas.com
If you are open to a couple of suggestions - then if I were you I would just use an extract of the panorama as a thumbnail. When you use the whole 360degree picture as a thumbnail it will seem confusing to many people not used to seeing these images.
I would also personally have used a couple of hotspots inside the panorama to move to the next room - but that's just me.
Congratulation with the tour. I hope you get good exposure from it so more people get familiar with virtual tours. That should be benificial to all of us.
Best regards
Morten

Hans,
Just admiring your tour for about the 20th time!
I have been planing on adding sound and have looked at a few different options for recording. Needed some help though.
Your sound quality seems great, you really can here some detail. I like the atrium you can here a motor cycle is seems in the background and if you listen close really close you can here someone breathing!
What are you using? I need something simple, as I have a few photographers and want to keep it simple for them and affordable. Needs to be easy to get to their laptops and to me.
If anyone has something that they like please share.
Thanks Mike Love your Nav!

Thanks
Probably me breathing, I had to cut out a cough yesterday I found on one of them.
I use the Edirol R 09 digital recorder. http://www.rolandus.com/products/productdetails.aspx?ObjectId=757
There are several other similar available today. Like this one
http://www.proaudioreview.com/pages/s.0035/t.514.html
You record on a flashcard so you just import it like your images with a card reader.
I believe the price has gone down a bit so they cost the same as you had to pay for one of the small minidisc recorders many used before.
I use Audacity to edit the sound. Its free and very easy to use for a novice in sound editing like me.

Price seems to be around $400 for all of them

Hans,
On the recorders. Thank you! I looked the reviews on both and sounds like yours is the clear winner. I am going to get one for my Christmas present. LOL
Thank you, Mike

Thanks Zephyr
I now found out that it is probably No 2 University Tour in flash.
I discovered the Tours Virtually Anywhere have made with Flashpanoramas
http://www.virtually-anywhere.com/pricing/nexus/
They have a very similar interface but I can see they developed a flash plugin for the thumbnails.
How about that Zephyr. I suppose that can be done so that I do not need to recode the locations of the thumbs and you do not have a limited number.

Hi Hans, izoneguy, and anyone else interested in these arcane topics,
Here's an early heads up for you all, I am wrapping up work on my image slider. I am calling this a beta version. Here's a link to an example:

Hurry, it's still not too late to find a bug!

Very nice work, Zephyr. Is it possible to show/hide the imageslider? Can I have a second static layer, e.g. on top of the background, that should not be scrolled with up, down, zoom etc.?

Great stuff! I like the image slider and it also answers one of my previous posts regarding the ability to make the carousel flat. I couldn't think of the word 'slider' but that's what I was getting at :???:
Zephyr, will this imageslider soon be available under the plugins section on your flashpanos.com for anyone interested to use along with an fla so we can change colours etc?
Thanks
Andrew
