when setting tilt limits with the 'borders.swf' plugin, the player does not work like expected - based on existing pano viewers, at least.

your player provides tilt limits which vary based on the zoom factor. instead, one should be able to tilt up and down to see the same amount regardless of the degree one is zoomed in.

Yes, I used simple restrictions for camera pan/tilt, not for picture pan/tilt, and there is no relationship with zoom factor.

To be true, I've never seen the correct work of common pan/tilt method in other players. It works not bad only for small FOV and far away from nadir and zenyth.

Algorithm to tune Borders settings:
1. Set rough values
2. Run the panorama
3. Go to the minimal zoom
4. Check limits. If you still see some unnecessary areas, reduce limits and repeat once again.

In future I'm going to make some strict Borders plugin based on real curvilinear border of the image (not on pan/tilt)...

i just looked at a qtvr and even if mathematically not correct (i wouldnt know in lack of the mental capacity), to me, it seems that it gives the proper degree of tilt zoomed in _and_ out.

nevertheless, the approach you're suggesting sounds good (likewise beyond my understanding) . . .

thanks.
