:) Nice way to put it.
My IE based browser was locked out, but FireFox had the masterkey.
This was absolutely a nice art-store, and I liked the animations you added.
Paulo, the guestbook is by the entrance.

Hey Mindslave,
wow, very impressive indeed! Respect!
I wonder how you did this front door effect:
1. How did you take the photos? Tripod, and then simply a series of pictures with several "opening degrees" of the doors?
2. How do you make it a movie so that it plays on mousever?
I'm really curious to know how you did this... Do you want to explanin? I'd be grateful for that :-)

Rick,
Very impressive and interesting application of FPP to a selling environment. It will be interesting to see if this increases sales enough to justify the the higher site production costs. Please keep us informed.
My burning question is what 3D package did you use to create the site? Pretty convincing production. My compliments.
Wow. The more I look around to more impressed I am with the huge environment you have created and the incredible complexity of programming it obviously required. Really something!

thankyou:),
sure I want to explain,
1.The panorama isnt made of photo's they are 3d renders made in 3ds max and rendered with vray, the doors are just 4 seperate renders.
2.I used this code for animation of doors (the animations for guestbook, contact book on desk and other book on round table are almost the same):
<box id="door_switch" url="shop/flash/data/pfp/dummy_door.jpg" distorted="0" pan="177.58" tilt="-10" orientation="back" depth="4" scale="1.25" segmentsX="6" segmentsY="6" alpha="0"
open="uitgang.alpha=1,300;door0.show;onOver=;onOut=;"
close="door3.hide;onOut=;onOver=;"
onOver="open()"
onClick="uitgang.visible=0;door_switch.onOver=;door_switch. onOut;door0.visible=0;door1.visible=0;door2.visibl e=0;door3.visible=0;doPan();zoomFade();" doPan="pano.pan=177,300;pano.tilt=0,300;timer+=1,300;" zoomFade="pano.zoom+=200,15000;pano.brightness-=1,800;timer+=1,200,,toURL" toURL="javascript:ajax.getContent('street.php?street=302' ,'mainContent')"
/>
<box id="door0" url="shop/flash/data/pfp/Pfp_2.jpg" pan="177.00" tilt="16.3" orientation="back" depth="4" scale="1.25" segmentsX="6" segmentsY="6" alpha="1"
show="alpha=0,5;door1.alpha=1,5;timer+=1,5,,door1.show;"
hide="door_switch.onOver=open;door_switch.onOut=;uitgang .alpha=0,300"
/>
<box id="door1" url="shop/flash/data/pfp/Pfp_2+1.jpg" pan="177.00" tilt="16.3" orientation="back" depth="4" scale="1.25" segmentsX="6" segmentsY="6" alpha="0"
show="alpha=0,5;door2.alpha=1,5;timer+=1,5,,door2.show;"
hide="alpha=0,5;door0.alpha=1,5;timer+=1,5,,door0.hide;"
/>
<box id="door2" url="shop/flash/data/pfp/Pfp_2+2.jpg" pan="177.00" tilt="16.3" orientation="back" depth="4" scale="1.25" segmentsX="6" segmentsY="6" alpha="0"
show="alpha=0,5;door3.alpha=1,5;timer+=1,5,,door3.show;"
hide="alpha=0,5;door1.alpha=1,5;timer+=1,5,,door1.hide;"
/>
<box id="door3" url="shop/flash/data/pfp/Pfp_2+3.jpg" pan="177.00" tilt="16.3" orientation="back" depth="4" scale="1.25" segmentsX="6" segmentsY="6" alpha="0"
show="door_switch.onOut=close;"
hide="alpha=0,5;door2.alpha=1,5;timer+=1,5,,door2.hide;"
/>
just ask if you have more questions :D.

Hey, thanks for your explanation! I am totally unaware of 3D-stuff in general, but it looks like I should implicitly have a closer look at it..! Is it hard to learn / do stuff like such a rendered door? Hhm, I guess this is a stupid question, sorry for that, but I really have no clue about 3D rendering and programs. (Besides -- I own Photosjop CS3 Extended since a few days, and I know that it supports 3D-stuff as well. Could such a door also be rendered/made with Photoshop then?)
In fact, I would like to take the real doors in a tour (shoot separately if necessary) and make them "open themselves" on mouseover. This would be a cool way to make panoramas more interactive while keeping the real scenery instead of rendering an artificial one.
Best regards,
Phberlin

Have you had problems with other Flash sites in IE? I would suggest reinstalling Flash Player because it sounds like that may be the problem.

Color me dumb -- but what is in the tour that prevents it from working on the Mac (in any browser)?

Well to make a room like the pfp shop panorama, you should be a pretty good modeler, it takes some time to learn.
But you can also buy or download some premodelt object and make a room and then render it as an panorama.
I don't know about PS CS3 extended and 3d stuff but i do know you can't render images in PS... you have to use a model program to render things.

the website isnt viewable for the mac YET...
Our highest priority is getting the website to work for the mac now, so I will let you know when it works for the mac ;)

Ah, OK, so the whole room is modeled? :eek: I thought only the door was rendered and put into the real-world-pano... Hhm, as soon as I have time to experiment a little, I'll have to try putting real-world-doors in a real-world-pano..

Hi Mindslave,
Very good work you done here, particurlarly with animated elements.
Can you describe a little bit more the 3D export process?
You're talking about 3Dsmax and VRay.
For example, once you got your room on 3Dsmax, what's the exact workflow to export the cube faces??
Thanks a lot for sharing!
And Bravo

thx jaaab!
sure,
well after modeling the room I make 6 camera's (for the 6 views left,right,front,back,top,bottom)
http://img167.imageshack.us/img167/1884/maxexamplemq1.jpg (http://imageshack.us)
I use the settings you can see on the right of the image for camera and I render the 6 files in jpg format with a resolution of 800x800 but thats up to you its just the quality you want to use and how big the file will be...
for each image my pc had to render 6hours haha :D and no I dont have a crappy pc its just if you add realistic light and stuff it takes long to calculate everything :cool:
and when I rendered all images I just paste them in folder with the panorama swf file and the panorama is ready :D
if it isn't clear yet, just ask me

Wow great work. BUT...
I find it very user unfriendly, my CPU had some heavy work there, and I run with a fairly good PC. The waiting time is terrible, I feel like going back to the beginning of Flash history were you had to wait and wait in front of a never ending progress bar…..
Sure we love this stuff, but how about the general public, the possible clients. Are they going to appreciate? Do they notice the rendering at all? I am just questioning the purpose of all that work. Was the goal, to expose a product to be sold over the net or to expose a fantastic peace of Flash work?

you are right about CPU, I have done everything to get it as low as possible but this shop isn't purposed for actually buying things this is a shop made for people that want a shop in the virtual word of "gizmoplaza" to show them what things are possible to have in there own shop...
passion for paintings is just some sort of demo to let customers see what is posible if you buy a shop in the virtual world

Hi all,
It is finally done :) the passion for paintings shop with lots of improvements:
- greyscale preview
- new loader
- new flash menu
- controls menu added with buttons (navigation arrow, leaveshop, autorotater & music on/off )
- made invisible buttons at the edges of panorama that works like panofollowsmouse
- lots of xml problems fixed
- it works on mac
I hope you enjoy it :)
link to pano: http://www.luxeplaza.com/artistiekelaan/passionforpaintings_01.html
(loading takes long because I don't know how to adjust glassmeter that it also loads hotspots, now it will look like it isnt loading but it is, the hotspots are being loaded in the background so loading bar doesnt fill. loading bar starts filling when hotspots are loaded then it only has to load panorama images)
-- UPDATE: added arrows in corners that show direction of scrolling --
