New Forum
The way the new forum is performing is very irritating.

It seems to be setup now to just show threads from the same day.
Even if you change the settings to for example 10 days in the General FPP discussion and then go to another part of the forum it has changed back when you return to it in the same session.

The basic setting should be at least 10 days . New people may believe this forum is copmpletely dead when they enter it.

It also lacks a personal preference setting but I guess thats not possible with this forum.

Some of the settings have probably been changed during the shuffling of things back and forth. I will check the settings for the forums and make sure more days will show than just one... I wasn't aware of it being that way (probably in my private settings from long ago), but I have seen something in the admin panel that can increase the history.

Thanks for letting me know... I will make sure that Freddy will also get Admin rights in order to have a competent guardian around.

Indeed it was due to moving threads. It should be showing everything now.

Sorry for the inconvenience. Please let me know if there are some other issues you find.

I don't see many new post in the forum, for me its quite a few work in order to adapt to the new organitzation....

And it seems that it have affected to the activity, isn't it ??

I now it's quite silly but it took me more than 7 seconds to find the new position of the showcase :(

I will adapt

Sorry for the late answer jordi. I had not seen this post of yours.

The new structure in the forums is made so that things can be found easier... such as:

FPP file download section, where the latest updated version of FPP and related files can be found. (only access for registered paying FPP users)

Then there are the "no talk" zones:
"Free & Commercial Plugins and Software"

These are "user service" areas, and cutting out the possibility to have discussions there, will ensure that the threads with files/plugins/links will not move down the list and get "lost" somewhere.

Then we have:

"Talk", "Technical Tips & Tricks" and "Service" sections, where people should be able to find the correct topic to post in. A section for software and another for hardware... which should help making it easier to look for "panorama head" or "stitching" tricks.

Before we had "all-in-one" ... and it was completely impossible to find anything in a hurry.

On the subject of there not being many posts, I can only agree, but that is something that seems to be a very general issue right now all over the panorama communities and other discussion groups as well. Probably it is the European Industrial vacations affecting the online communications.... people traveling usually don't post in forums during their vacations.

... and of course it could be the age old case of "I'm going to wait for what everyone else is saying"... and as a result, everyone wait collectively, and no one writes anything. :)

I would have to say that I can not be accused of not speaking out... but in the end, it is up to the members to keep the community alive and flourishing, and I can only encourage people to do their part.
