Tribute to Tommy's plugins

I have been working about 5 months on this one. Not the whole time, but every few weeks this customer would come back to me with additional wishes. And on many occasions I could not get it to work as they, or I wanted it.
And every time it were Tommy's plugins that saved the day. And every time this customer grew more enthusiastic and dared to ask for more. A nice problem to have, by the way :D

I used the billboard, panologic, movieplayer and the floorplan and every single one enabled me to do what could not be done any other way.
And Tommy knows that I used some of them quite differently than they were ever intended. He even made some new commands to make it all work.

The tour is about a virtual showroom and it only has two 360's, but also 13 different videos, loads of popups and links.

Here is an ode to my Swedish friend and hero: http://www.pro4pics.com/virtual_tour/rittal/index.html

Grtz, Ton

Not real 360x180. but I understand the limitation.
photography is as always super! a little to much tonemapping to my taste but rocksolid.
I can see you are a real photographer. photo's are ok but yur pano template well... not.
All gizmo's are working great but your buttons does not have a pro look over it.
some minor thing to think about maybe.

if not..
even goede vrienden!;)

I thought it was great. I am sure the client had much input into the look and feel of the graphics. I know that many times I have had to work with clients sub-standard graphics because they either thought they were great or did not want to spend the money. Several times I took up upon myself to redesign something and would present it to the client and show them "their way" and "my way".....Sometimes a client would accept the change - more often time they would not and sometimes even get mad that I would tinker with their work. I try to present the client enough examples and hope they don't want to use graphics that their daughter created in Photoslop elements. LOL!!!!

Thanks! And I can tell that you have been there, for that is exactly how it works.

You always make certain concessions to please the customer. For an amateur it is easy to judge, but in the end it is up to our customer to judge what looks professional and what does not. He wants to be satisfied before he will pay the bill.

I've been there too. (I've got my own little company too remember ;)
Still I think designing a good template is very important.
Right now I am making a template that needs to run on pano2vr (idevice and android pano) and fpp.
Must be perfect first.. (nightmare!!)
WIP fpp version here:

In my images I do never consessions to the quallity I deliver.
I am the photographer.
Altho I've been crying one time when I only made the panoramas and saw what they did with them.. so lucky my name is not mentioned there..
still it paid the bill..

I have a little problem when I click on the brochures te downloaden.
My window changes to a smaller size and I get Pop-up blocked. to see this pop-up or additional options click here...
Clicking the massage, the pop-up opens but I also had it go back 2 different times to the beginning info page where I need to click and re-enter the tour.

Windows 7
IE 8

Everything else looks very nice!!!

Yes I always like the look of a clean interface.
How do you do those tooltips?

Thanks

Great work Ton!

And yes, Tommy is deserving of many more tributes. Thank you for this :)

Kind regards,

Kelly

Thanks Roger!

Sorry, but I can't reproduce the problem in XP with IE8.
The first steps are good: if you are in full screen, it will switch to normal. I use Panologic to check and force that, because not every browser will return to normal screen opening a new window.
The new window is smaller, but that is a typical IE-thing I think. What you describe happening after that, I can't reproduce. Couldn't it be some setting?

I have checked it before with various browsers in XP and with Safari on the Mac and they all work as they should. I love this diversity :(

Maybe more people have this problem?

Thanks again for your comments!

Good luck, Ton

Thanks very much Kelly,

Yes, you are so right. Flashpanoramas has been in a coma for a number of years now and without Tommy's work it would have died a long time ago! I would not have been able to make this with the normal plugins. That tells me enough.
