I'm sorry Zephyr, i did everything you told...!
But the pano does not load.
Shell.swf seems to work correctly cause the pano place becomes dark gray (#282828) but ....no pano

in the folder i have shell.swf + 1.swf + 1.xml (the encrypted one)

in the html:
Quote:
<script type="text/javascript">
var so = new SWFObject("shell.swf?fpp=1.swf&xml=1.xml&", "pano", "100%", "100%", "9", "#282828");
so.addParam("allowFullScreen","true");
so.addParam("allowScriptAccess","sameDomain");
so.write("flashcontent");
window.document["pano"].focus();
</script>
To download the encrypted xml file from the server i right clic and save as ...maybe i do something wrong.
Am I obliged to code the images so that they work with ?
I am a little tired of looking while everything seems correct by following your instructions
A xml file that was 8 Ko is 3 Ko encrypted.....possible ?
If somebody knows where i am wrong, please !

@broma: Yes you can use it on offline CD presentations.

@christophe: Can you send me a link to the tour that is not working and I will see what is wrong. And yes, you do "encrypt" the images, and the XML, and you encrypt them both with the SAME password, or else they won't work together. This is what keeps people from switching out your images for their images and re-using your XML. Or keeps people from stealing your images and using them.

Jaab,
I use the same utility, for web presentation it is enough, but especially for me it is very important to encrypt .xml also as I produce offline presentations mainly. ANd U will agree that the most of our work is in xml file, which is fully accessible on CDs!

Igor

hi,

ok but let's talk about online work. Basicaly if we encrypt html, then there's no acces to the xml? unless the visitor find himself path to xml, but there as many chance to find this than a password.

Is it true or wrong? just wondering..

cheers

Zephyr,

some question:

2: Does not work with Flash Version Detection, or Flash Plugins before Flash 9.

any chance it will along soon?

3: Does not currently support equirectangulars or cylinders, however support will probably be built in soon.

any date of release? i'm interested about compatibility with cylconverter.swf

Cheers!

Hi Jaaab,

Which program is this that you use to encrypt HTML? I am not familiar enough with it to give you a proper answer. But I will certainly take a look at it and try to give you the best answer I can from a link to the software. Do you use this on all of your tours? because I have never had any trouble looking at your XML before....

Working with Flash Version Detection: not going to come along soon. The utility relies on features that are AS3 only. so Flash 9 only.

Working with equi's and cylinders: This could come along soon. In order to implement this, I will basically have to spend a large amount of time poking around with describeType commands trying to figure out how cylconverter.swf works, and how to pipe a 'decrypted' image back into it and on to FPP. Which is a slow, and extremely annoying process. I had figured that it would be very, very similar to movDecoder.swf, but it seems that it is not so similar, and so I have pushed the feature into the future.

I suppose that if there were massive demand for equi's and cylinders that might set a fire under my culito to get it done....

Hi Jaab, zleifr,
As I know it only encrypts html code. I tried to encrypt xml also, but it was not readable for FPP then... As I understood jaab, he speek of encrypting html file only - by this the users should not know where xml file is or what is its name - is it right, Jaab? At least I thought this way myself, but then when started to use Mac with Safari I noticed, that everything can be seen in "Activity" :-o
Is something like Activity on Win platform (or browsers like IE, FF, Opera?) also? At least there must be some software by which someone can easily find what files does your FPP load - xml also... If the xml is not encrypted itself (in such a way that FPP can read it) encrypting html code is not enough - your main work is still easily reachable...
Thanks zleifr for his effort on this subject...!
Regards,
Igor
