Is there a way to change the green screen that is seen temporarily before a pano loads?

from the FPP tutorial, "Using parameters" page, under "Image loader params" section:

loaderBackColor sets the background color for image preloader

Default value depends on security sandbox of Flash Player. "Remote" mode (Flash Player on a web site) gives dark gray background #282828, "localWithFile" gives red background #880000, "localWithNetwork" gives yellow #888800, "localTrusted" (inside any exe application) gives green background #008800.

It would be nice to be able to set the default background color shown while loading. That would give us much more freedom to design custom preloaders.
Hope that this feature would be included in the next release.
