Harry,

I'm not saying you can't play MP3 surround in Flash. But the way this and all other players I know of implement it the listener's perspective remains static. There is no method built in to pan or move the sound the way you would want to in a 360VR.

If that is what you want, great. But again, to really be effective, IMO, you want to pan the sound dynamically, in sync with the image. The MP3 surround player doesn't do that as far as I can tell.

But if you made it into a hotspot like mp3hotspot.swf

Maybe it's possible...

Not any way that I can think of... using this player.

No.

I have e-mail the developers of Mp3 Surround, so I think its just going to be, wait and see if they get back to me, and if they have any suggestions.

Because of Scott's arguments I was thinking of separating 4 channels? Is it possible?
It would be nice if H2 recorder would have the feature to directly save the sounds from 4 mics to 4 files - not to mix them into one surrounding mp3.
There is no problem to assign this 4 files to pano 4x 90 then.
look at the manual (?)

Igor, Think you mite be onto something there.

The H2 records 2 stereo files, and it is not hard to convert a stereo file in to two mono files.

I think the hard part would be to get them all to start and play at the same time

Right. Separating two or four channels manually is no problem. But getting them to play in perfect sync is, especially in Flash 9. Flash 10 has a new audio function that might make it possible but this involves pretty complex AS3 programming and the resulting player would not be Flash 9 compatible.

Further, true 3D sound that can be manipulated dynamically vs just playing back a static 3D recording is not a trivial programming effort in my experience. I've found no existing player which can do it. 360VR and 360 games are the only applications I can see for it. So you aren't likely to find anything off the shelf that would fit the bill.

If I'm wrong I would dearly love to know about it....

By all means try it. I expect there will still be sync problems that will only get worse over time based on my experience. But I would love to see if that holds true or not. Good luck and please share the results.
